This site originally started with a Banana Smoothie theme. Because I love banana smoothies, and frankly, sometimes my life is like one. At least as much as a complicated web of breath and skin and people I love and people I try to forget and thoughts and words and accidents can resemble blended fruit.
But then I found out there was a Blueberry theme I could add to my Banana Smoothie page. And anyone who knows me, knows I love blueberries. I will eat a whole pint (or more if I can get it) in one go. You can add blueberries as a garnish to just about anything (and I do.) A salad, yoghurt, icecream, its all better with blueberries. They are healthy and delicious and I don’t hold back.
Which sometimes is also like that complicated web. Sometimes I just dive in. I don’t care if the serving size is half a cup; I don’t want to follow the rules. I don’t know if you can ever reach a point where too many blueberries becomes unhealthy, but I’ll find out through trial and error. But at the same time, you can’t live off blueberries. They can be a nice addition, but blueberries are rarely the main event. A blueberry just isn’t a pot roast. And never will be. And you can either spend the rest of your life wishing you would have had a pot roast, but then that’s decidedly less like a blueberry and maybe you should have lived the type of life where a blueberry fits.
Eating red meat is a risk factor for high cholesterol, you know. It may not constitute a meal, but a blueberry feels a lot more like home.
